Plano, a suburb of Dallas, is the most affluent city in the United States. It is home to several tech companies, an excellent amusement park, and extensive nature preserves.
Take a Drive
The neighborhoods of Plano are picturesque enough for you to tour them. Take an afternoon to explore some of Plano’s best neighborhoods. See the lush landscaping and 80’s ranch style homes in Whiffle Tree. Drive through Avignon, near Downtown Dallas, to see Mediterranean architecture. Check out Willow Bend for its luxury estates and high-end shopping.
Taste the Local Fare
Plano is abundant with restaurants. Try a crab restaurant Plano, or any of their fine dining or cafes. They have vegan and kosher options, too, for people with dietary restrictions.
Plano is home to Arbor Hills Nature Park and Oak Point Park and Nature Preserve. Try a mountain bike ride and a picnic along the creek at Arbor Hills. Go to Oak Point for its expansive green space. You can also do zip lining at Go Ape! If you are there in September, Oak Point is where you can see the Balloon Festival.
Boost Your Adrenaline
One of the most revered amusement parks in North America, Six Flags Over Texas, is fun for the whole family. Try riding the Titan or the New Texas Giant for one of the greatest thrills of your life.
The Heritage Farmstead Museum has a lot of artifacts from 1800s farm life. The antique tractors, cars, and wagon illustrate the way people lived over 100 years ago. They have a great variety of animals, including chickens, goats, pigs, turkeys, and mules. You can also take a wagon ride!
Visiting Plano is a natural choice for a weekend getaway. Its proximity to Dallas makes it easy to access. Once you’re there, you’ll find no lack of ways to relax and entertain yourself.
